(55) This mural was created in the early 70s on the front of the International Guiding Light Center. It’s called “We Live to Serve” and relates the story of the coming together of Russia and America in the distant future. Three days after we finished it, a group of Christian Fundamentalists painted over the entire mural, saying they were afraid the symbols were Satanic. After we talked with them, they realized it was not Satanic after all. And at their request, we repainted the whole thing over again.
